1. Chaturanga Dandasana (Plank Pose)

This asana or yoga pose begins with Balasana or Child Pose. Extend your arms forward and lift your hips. Attain a posture aligning shoulder with the palms. Keep the knees below the pelvic bone and look down.

Back of neck, and head parallel to the ground, and push the shoulder away from ears. Maintaining the pose, stretch the right leg back, followed by the left leg. 2. Ardha Pincha Mayurasana (Dolphin Pose)

Ardha Pincha Mayurasana begins with Adho Mukha Svanasana. Slowly bending the arms, place your arms on the floor. The elbow should be placed in line with the shoulder.

3. Utthita Vasisthasana (Side Plank Pose)

This is a balancing exercise from the modern yoga asana. One of the most effective yoga poses, it offers excellent burning of calories.

4. Shirsasana (Headstand)

Keep the head top portion on the yoga mat. Lift the hip up. You must maintain the spine and back steady and straight. Control your breath and concentrate. Shirsasana should be followed by balasana.

5. Virabhadrasana (Warrior Pose)

Stretch your feet apart and stand straight. Heels should be on a straight line and parallel to each other. Bring your palms together, turn to your right, keeping the right foot at an angle of 90-degree.

Bend the right leg, maintaining the thigh parallel to the ground. The body weight would be on the right leg, while the left leg remains straight. Remain on this pose at least for 25-30 seconds. Continue on the next side.
